In 2009, I, Bonnie, was blessed to finally have the opportunity to go to Africa. While there, we were encouraged to make Pen Pals with some of the students of the Seminary College our church supported. Which is where I met my friend Lincoln. We went from Pen Pals, to Facebook friends and on to lifelong friends and co-laborers. It seems almost every conversation we've had over the years was of how we were going to help the beautiful people of Kenya. Finally, after 14 years of dreaming and planning, God made it clear it was time to jump and began opening doors and infusing us with courage and a clear purpose. He lead us to an impoverished village in rural Kenya where they have no opportunities to break free from the bondage of poverty. We knew instantly, this was the place God had been leading us to all along. And nothing brings us greater joy and purpose than fulfilling this calling and because of this, we want others to have the opportunity to join us in our mission to end poverty, one village at a time! If you feel a stirring in your heart to be a part of what we are doing, please reach out so we can help you explore this further!
OurMIssion
It is so easy to fall into a pattern of apathy and complacency as we go through our lives. Our organization was born out of a passion to take real steps toward ending poverty. To infuse real hope into the lives of those in greatest need. We not only address their physical needs, but their spiritual and intellectual needs as well. By doing this, we are equipping them to create sustainable change for generations to come. Here at Matumaiani Kupanda, we understand that it is crazy to think we can "end poverty", and as individuals we can't. However, we believe that if enough of us come together for this common goal and each surrender our abilities to God to simply be His hands and feet, and add to that faith and perseverance, there is nothing we can't accomplish.
